Blue Heron 20th Birthday Concert

Gramophone award-winning renaissance ensemble Blue Heron presents a 20th Birthday Concert entitled “Canterbury Rediscovered”, featuring some of the group’s–and fans’–favorite selections from its five recordings of 16th-century English polyphony found in the Peterhouse Partbooks. This collection of music was used at Canterbury Cathedral, then was lost for hundreds of years before being rediscovered, and then restored by English musicologist Nick Sandon.

The Lost Music of Canterbury with Blue Heron

Continuing on from Blue Heron’s recently completed 5-CD recording project, this program explores more polyphonic music from the the 16th-century Peterhouse Partbooks, which were missing for centuries before being restored by English musicologist Nick Sandon. This concert is part of Blue Heron’s subscription series in First Church, Cambridge.
